Dr. Wier helps students solve their problems at school and/or at home. His knowledge and years of experience working with teenagers and their families enable him to understand and solve many troublesome, educationally-related problems. Dr. Wier is a valued professional who has just joined Educational Help Centres Inc.
Davis Dyslexia Correction Program
Mary Ann Kettlewell, R.N.
Mary Ann is a certified Davis dyslexia correction facilitator. She works with
students, all ages, who are visual learners or picture thinkers. Many of her
students have been labelled A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. and are not achieving in the
classrooms. The Davis program is a proven method of correcting dyslexia (a
communication disorder) in 87 countries of the world. The book, "The Gift of
Dyslexia" by R. Davis explains the procedure that Mary Ann uses.
Testing
For several years, we have offered “Academic Testing” for Reading, Writing and Mathematics. Sandy
O'Brien, a trained tester and
Learning Support teacher uses the “Woodcock-Johnson III Psycho-Educational Battery” test. The parents and school receive a comprehensive report regarding the findings of the test and recommendations.
During the past two years, Stephen Ballantyne, a Guidance Counsellor/Principal, advises students regarding careers and course selection. He uses the results of up-to-date “Interest Inventory Tests” to help students know their strengths and weaknesses.
